Kadina Memorial School welcomes all First Nations Peoples and acknowledges the Traditional Custodians on whose land we live, learn, play, and work. We are proudly on Nharangga Country, and we acknowledge Elders, past and present.

Our vision is that every First Nations child and young person is a proud and confident learner, achieving their highest potential.

We are committed to:

    • Creating an environment where young people, staff, and community members acknowledge, respect, and experience connection to the First Australians,
    • Building relationships based on mutual respect, trust, and inclusiveness,
    • Learning about reconciliation in Australia,
    • Building awareness of and effective responses to racism,
    • Embedding learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures across year levels and learning areas,
    • Ensuring our policies are culturally safe and respectful, and
    • Striving towards the aims of the Buthera Agreement.

Support and opportunities offered by our First Nations Education Team include:

    • Mentoring and wellbeing support,
    • Literacy and numeracy support,
    • National Reconciliation Week recognition,
    • Reconciliation design competitions,
    • NAIDOC Week Awards,
    • Workabout Centre referrals,
    • Access to the South Australian Aboriginal Secondary Training Academy (SAASTA), and other Aboriginal Pathways programs, and
    • Support with various applications and submissions.
